Keep using handcream. I look for something with urea in it. The way I understand it is, it's a natural substance that you have in your skin and its function is to hold moisture. When you wash hands frequently or use those alcohol based sanitizers, you strip away the urea. It's not easy to find a hand cream with urea in it that doesn't cost big $$.
