We were free to create an art postcard of our choosing. No topics were assigned, but, I like to work around a theme. I think I'd have to say that the results are all about ORANGE, although they began as an exploration of the topic of "pumpkins."

This next haiku was inspired by a favorite old picture book, Mousekin's Golden House, by Edna Miller:

I hope I haven't hurt anyone's eyes or sensibilities with all the orange! I can guarantee I will never use orange in quantities such as this ever again!
Head over to Teacher Dance where Linda is hosting the Round-Up this week. Linda had posted a photo on Facebook last week of a squirrel nibbling on a jack-o-lantern. Old pumpkins can provide a treat for many little creatures.
Each one is a gem, Diane. The pumpkins left out are a treat for little creatures. I've loved seeing the scamper of the squirrels to get to them. As for the little field mice, I've had them visit this week "inside" & that has not been so pleasant! If I get to choose a favorite, it's the "orange polka dots" but I also love the idea of that 'artificial heart' too. Your recipients must have been joyful when receiving! Have a great day tomorrow!

DeleteThese are great from start to finish, Diane! We put a pumpkin in a tree, and the squirrels have been LOVING that. It will be nothing but a stalk before long.

DeleteI love all of these, Diane - but the orange polka dotted cloth got me most...exactly what some field in upstate New York looked like.
ReplyDeleteI drove to a conference very early in the morning, one time, and with the mist, and the pumpkins in the spent field, it was a memorable sight.

You will write a poem inspired by the work. You'll send the artist one of your poems and he/she will create a piece of art. It's fun!

ReplyDeleteCan you wear orange? I think one of the reasons I dislike it is because if I wear orange, it looks horrible with my coloring.

ReplyDeleteThese are all fun but as a collection they feel like a year-round treat in the making. Other months, other colors? The orange polka dot made me think of fabric, for some reason! (Quilting on the brain, perhaps!)

ReplyDeleteI can never get enough orange or pumpkins Diane. I like the "compost heap now with grins!" maybe because I compost my pumpkins and gourds too, and very often a new plant grows in the spring. Thanks for the fun post!
