"Woman and Cab" (1889) by Lesser Ury [1861-1931].
let's turn the cab away
it's only a gentle rain
and I have my umbrella
the streets are beautiful
tonight and you and I have
much left to say

A cherita is a haiku-like poem of three stanzas that tells a "story." The first stanza is one line and sets the scene. Stanza two is two lines, stanza three is three lines. A cherita terbalik is a cherita with the order of the stanzas rearranged.
Love the anticipation of what's next, Diane. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda!
DeleteLove the light in that painting, and the narrative you created.
ReplyDeleteLight and wet pavement is a great combination!
DeleteYou captured the moment so well Diane!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle, but I couldn't have done so without the wonderful painting.
DeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elaine!
DeleteI like how she looks out at the viewer and you let her speak to the reader!
ReplyDeleteBut that's what she's doing, I have nothing to do with it! ;-)
