I had a bit of photo editing fun putting my cat's head over the head of a boy in this painting, "Preparing to Fish (Boys Fishing)" [circa 1846] by James Henry Cafferty (1819-1869). I wrote a haiku to fit the painting and the character of my cat.

Those are supposed to be hearts . . .
ReplyDeleteI understood your intent, Janet! Thanks!
DeleteYears ago there was a fishing program at our local library. You could actually check out a fishing pole. Well, one day a PETA rep showed up and protested in a fish suit. My husband protested against the protest by bringing tuna sandwiches. Your picture and poem reminded me of this. It's become part of our family lore.
