the roses of 2018

two years of pests have
had a spotty effect

scars disappear when leaves
fall, but an insidious blight
is at work rotting the roots

  3. Hi Diane - I've tried sending you messages through the contact form on your website, but it doesn't seem like it's gone through. I work with a state department of education and am seeking permission to use one of your poems, "Voting", in a curricular unit for first graders on citizenship. This unit is for educational purposes only and will be shared with educators across the state. Is there another way to contact you?

    1. Karen, "Voting" is part of The Poetry Friday Anthology for Celebrations from Pomelo Books http://pomelobooks.com/. I'm honored that you'd like to use the poem, but not knowing exactly how it is to be used, I think you'd be better off obtaining permission from the publisher. There is a "contact us" form at the bottom of the Pomelo Books home page. Thanks for contacting me, if you need to contact me again use dianemayrATdianemayrDOTcom, I just tested it and it seems to be working.
